The Trustees have considered carefully the proposal put forward on behalf of the parish; but due to the serious difficulties the proposal would create under the Charities Acts 1993 have regretfully been unable to accept the offer. They have however approved the sale of the presbytery on the open market as a means of better securing the financial basis of the parish. Father Mark has been requested to contact the chairman of the Diocesan Property Committee to see how this can be arranged. Father Mark will leave the parish at the end of August and September 2008 will see St Gregory’s and St Thomas More’s having their pastoral needs served by two priests: a parish priest who will be parish priest of both parishes and an assistant priest.
